In 2007 PFund received the prestigious Twin
Cities Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Brian Coyle Leadership
award in recognition of the important work we do in the gay,
lesbian, bisexual, trans and allied communities. Take a look

History: Philanthrofund Foundation
traces its roots back to 1987, when four friends joined together
to create a modest fund of $2,000 aimed at supporting and
developing their GLBT community.
Today: Philanthrofund’s
core fund has grown substantially, and the non-profit organization
remains true to its key goals of strengthening and celebrating
GLBT communities.
PFund has grown to become a vibrant and vital
community foundation, thanks to support over the years from
thousands of individual donors and hundreds of volunteers.
The foundation now annually awards thousands of dollars in
grants and scholarships to GLBT-related individuals and organizations
throughout the Upper Midwest – in Minnesota, Iowa, North
Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
A professional staff
actively oversees PFund’s day-to-day operations, helping
to organize fundraising efforts and fulfill the organization’s
goal of inspiring philanthropy in the communities we serve.
Around 75 volunteers, including a 24-member Board
of Directors composed of individuals from many facets
of our diverse communities, provide vital help to sustain
our work throughout the year.
Placing a high value on prudent fiscal stewardship,
PFund is committed to the responsible management of its financial
resources. The investments we make through PFund’s growing
portfolio allow us to have an increasing impact on the public
world. PFund actively seeks GLBT-friendly investments, particularly
in organizations with fair and non-discriminatory employment
practices.
We work with diligence because we know that
fiscal wisdom – paired with intentional and thoughtful
grants – allows every dollar to go further.
